RecruitLook Finale and On The Radar Elite 32 16U Rankings

There were some real exciting tournaments around the southeast last weekend and I know that the RecruitLook Finale was a good one, but not the premier tournament to be reporting on first thing Monday morning, but it is the tournament that the grandson would have been playing in if he had not been out with a sprained ankle.  I will eventually get ratings for the 16U EYBL, UAA, NY2LA and a whole bunch more but it takes time to calculate all these tournaments, so I wanted to give a shout out to SW Illinois Jets Orange 16U team who dominated the action in the RecruitLook Finale and the One the Radar Elite 32 play this weekend.  I believe all of their age group teams did very well.

Their toughest game of the tournament was not the championship against Hoop Smart, who they dominated 65-22 but with Larry Hughes in the semi, winning by 9, 57-49.  The game was won in the first 10 minutes when Orange went on a 19-0 start, hitting almost all their shots while LHBA was ice cold.  LHBA made an admirable comeback but it was too little and too late.  My pre-tournament favorite was Grassroots Sizzle Weston, who played like Jeckle and Hyde, losing to LHBA and Hoop Smart.  Grassroots Sizzle Jett had a nice tournament, upsetting LHBA with a comeback victory in the final minutes after trailing by 9 late.  Hoop Smart, in their first year of operation, had a heck of a showing to get to the final, with their upset win over Weston.

Overall, RecruitLook had a nice year and the tournament had good quality.  The top five teams could all move up to one of the elite tournaments, if invited, and do well.
