The best of St. Louis 16U boys AAU

The best chance of finding out who is the best team in St. Louis area 16U AAU might happen to be the Three Stripes Alliance Tournament in St. Charles at Lindenwood University in mid-July.  I hope everyone on the list shows up as it would be a great set of contests.

Right now, Bradley Beal has the edge, playing a really tough schedule in the UAA, losing a bunch of games to top nationally ranked teams but getting better from it.  Gateway, with a lot of talent too, have taken their lumps in their league, but shown well locally.  Both Larry Hughes and SW Illinois Jets Orange are top ranked in the Recruit Look League and I look for one of them to come out on top of their finale.  Ramey is also tough as nails.

Time will tell.

JULY 14U/8th Grade USA Rankings

I have updated my 14U/8th grade rankings prior to some big tournaments coming up.  The top 25 are all rock solid teams and any one of them could win any of the upcoming tournaments.  I am not going to differentiate the 14U and 8th grade ratings because that would take a whole lot of work to investigate all of the teams that might have 15 or 16 year olds playing on an 8th grade team because they have been held back for academic or other reasons. The Larry Hughes Basketball Academy Select team coached by Eric Bain (my grandson plays for him) is my anchor to these ratings at 100 (now ranked 249).  I have tried to list teams by state but some may be associated with the tournament state that they played in.
