How good is Indiana Elite 16U? Adidas Chicago Gauntlet Regional Rankings
I took a look at the Adidas Gauntlet 16U Regional tournament in Chicago in late May which was dominated by Indiana Elite. Prep Hoops moved them up from #18 to #6 in their national rankings (https://www.prephoops.com/grassroots-rankings/16u-rankings/). Well deserved as they trounced the competition, beating Mean Streets by 46 in the final. Their closest game was from Hayward Hoops (48-44) in an opening bracket game on that last Sunday, otherwise the typical score differential was 32, 44, 46 and up to 73 points. It just puts an exclamation point on how good they really are. The tournament was no field of push-overs either. The top ten teams averages a 121 rating, better than most tournaments and the field averages 106, outstanding for 55 teams. Most tournaments that size have about a 95 to 98 team average rating.
Right now, I would actually put Indiana Elite slightly above Mokan as the best team I have rated to date. It would be a good match-up.
