A look at bracket N of the UAA Invitational
The N bracket of the UAA Invitational includes several teams hoping for an invite to the UAA league next year. Here's a quick look at these hopefuls:
Charlotte Aces -North Carolina team with excellent speed on both ends of the court and a pressing, fast break offense. Several 6' 5" athletic, good rebounding power forwards but no dominant center. Will get a lot of baskets off of the press and shoot the three. Power rating = 104
Mid-Atlantic Select - Maryland team that is similar to Charlotte Aces in size but not quite as quick or athletic. Plays a zone defense to compensate for a lack of inside, dominant size. Power rating = 97
Q6 - Florida team that tends to play a slow down game and zone defense. Most similar to Mid-Atlantic. Power rating = 93
Larry Hughes - Missouri team that is dominant inside with a 6' 9" center and slashing offense. Plays man to man defense and runs a disciplined, high octane offense. Will score a lot of fast break points off their trapping defense. Little drop off to second team. Power rating = 113.
The first two games of this tournament bracket (N) will be very competitive. The Aces and LHBA game should be hotly contested and determine the winner of the bracket. The Mid-Atlantic/Q6 game should also be highly competitive but neither of these teams should challenge the Aces or LHBA teams over their entire games. However, you never know with 15 year olds.... prediction of a close game that ends up a rout is always a possibility.
Look for the Aces or LHBA to be competing in the Hungry winners bracket against KC Run GMC or C2K for a chance at the Hungry title and an opportunity to get an invite back to next year's league.
