2021 / 16u Boys AAU basketball

I watched some kids from a North St. Charles area high school team out at the IAABO tournament at Francis Howell Central this past week act like jerks while sitting in the stands in their uniforms, heckling a very good 2020 player from the St. Louis west county area.  His school was playing another team from the Wentzville area and these hecklers were rooting for the Wentzville team and really laying it on the star from the west county team.  It got worse as the Wentzville team whittled away at a 14 point lead and finally upset the west county team. Due to the high school period, there hasn't been much change in the rankings but I have added a couple of teams from the Southern Jam Fest tournament from mid-May that I ranked.  That put Garner Road Gold in the top ten and moved Team BBC Gold into the top 30. I still have a bunch of work catching up on some teams in the middle of my top 250 that I haven't looked at this year and are listed based upon last year's ranking (NR means Not Ranked this year). So how good is the Team Durant 16U AAU team? I have been rating them near the top with Mokan and Indiana Elite.  I went back to look at some Atlantic Coast tournaments that I had overlooked (well, not overlooked, just not had time to look at) and pulled in the Southern Jam Fest elite division with Durant, Boo Williams, Garner Road Gold, New World Gold, Team BBC Gold, Team Thrill and PSA Cardinals in the field.  Let's just say that the field was a "gold mine" of teams that could not be overlooked.  I felt impelled to report on this tournament, even six weeks after it was over because it adds two or three teams to that top twenty five. The tournament itself was outstanding.  I look at the average team rating in each tournament and this one averaged 108, about 10 points higher than most fields.  I also look at the top ten teams and those teams averaged a rating of 129, a full 10 to 15 points higher than most tournaments.   This was a tournament of tourname...
