2021 / 16u Boys AAU basketball

A day late and a dollar short, they say, or maybe a month late and a C note short.  I don't know. I suppose 16U boys ratings from Prep Hoops Hard Work Live in Stoughton Wisconsin in late April is old news but I didn't have enough common opponents to rate this Pool play only tournament until the Prep Hoops Show-Me Showdown when Young Lions Teal and Black, Capital City Teamwork, The Work Foundation, Illinois Twolves and a few other teams from Hard Work Live came down to St. Louis and I could rate the April tournament pools. So here are the Hard Work Live ratings which I will add to the Prep Hoops ratings list and post as a composite later in the month.  I have a backlog of Prep Hoops tournaments that I still want to rate and the High School camp break in June will allow me to catch up on the 16U AAU team ratings. I had some fun in yesterday's blog post, predicting the spreads and winners of the Prep Hoops Show-Me Showdown 16U (https://gramps8851.blogspot.com/2019/05/prep-hoops-show-me-showdown-sunday-16u.html).  I actually predicted Gateway and St. Louis Blazers in the final and Gateway proved to be too much for the Blazers as they ran them ragged for a 30+ point victory. Seems like the more the Blazers pressed for baskets, the easier it was for Gateway to break out on the fast break and score easy shots.  When they did have to settle down for a half court game, their three point shooters and slash and drive specialists were carving up the Blazers defense.  The final score wasn't indicative of the real differences in these two quality teams, but what happened to the Blazers can easily happen to a good team when things aren't working.... just ask Gateway about their experiences in the UAA league.  This win will help them in July and it puts them in the top position as the ne...
